What happens to your email address
Short version: it is used to send you the passenger handbook and to tell you when there is a new book. Nothing else. You can leave in one click and I will not ask why.
What is collected
Only what you type into the newsletter form: your email address. There is no name field, no preferences, no profile. Nothing else on this site asks you for anything.
Who processes it
- Netlify hosts the site and receives the form submission. It keeps its own copy as a backup, and — like any web host — writes ordinary server logs of requests, including IP addresses, which it retains on its own schedule.
- MailerLite stores the subscriber list and sends the emails. It records the usual mailing-list events: whether a message was delivered, opened, or a link in it was clicked.
Both are processors acting on my instructions. Your address is not sold, rented, swapped or forwarded to anyone else, ever.
What this site does not do
- No tracking cookies. This site sets no cookies at all.
- No advertising, and no advertising pixels. No Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no retargeting.
- No third-party scripts or fonts. Every font is a system font and every image is served from this domain, so simply reading the site contacts nobody but the host.
- No profile is built about you from what you read here.
Links to Amazon are ordinary links. Once you follow one, Amazon's own privacy policy applies and this site has no further part in it.
Consent, and leaving
Submitting the form is the consent — it is a single, deliberate action, there is no pre-ticked box anywhere, and the form is never shown as a pop-up. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, which removes you immediately and permanently.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted outright, including the Netlify Forms backup copy. Email the address on the about page and it will be done — in practice within a few days, and in any case within the month the UK GDPR allows.
Children
The newsletter is not intended for under-16s and no address is knowingly kept for one.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the change will be described in the newsletter rather than quietly made here.
